We bought our Masterbuilt 30 inch electric smoker online for right around $320. Shipping was included in the purchase price, and it arrived within five days.

Assembly was quick and easy with this Masterbuilt electric smoker; the instructions were straight forward and easy to follow, and we had the Masterbuilt 30-Inch put together and ready for use within 25 minutes.

It is a vertical unit, and has an extremely modest footprint on the patio. Measuring in at 26 inches by 20 inches by 42 inches high, it leaves enough room for patio furniture and other outdoor essentials; even on the smallest of patios.

And weighing in at 65 pounds with included bottom wheels, it is light enough to be moved around the patio by one person.

The Masterbuilt 30 Inch Electric Smoker Is Literally Hands Off

This is an excellent smoker with one advantage over other electric smokers… It is literally “hands off”. This is the first electric smoker that can be controlled completely by remote control.

A radio frequency remote controls the internal temperature, the cooking time, the internal light… You can even turn the entire unit on and off from inside your house as the remote is effective up to 100 feet.

Outside of a new toy, what’s the big deal with a remote control electric smoker? You can monitor the entire cooking process without having to physically go out on the patio and open the door to check on your food.

Every time you open the door, you lose temperature control; plus the smoking process is interrupted as a majority of the smoke escapes the cooker and winds up on your clothes.

But does the remote really keep a constant temperature?

Indeed it does; it allows you to not only monitor the interior temperature; but also the included meat temperature probe. In our first two test runs, we compared the meat temperature probe with a digital meat thermometer, and we found a variance of 1 to 2 degrees; so the remote not only allows hands free monitoring, but it is very accurate as well.

This Masterbuilt electric smoker is a solid, well constructed unit as well. It is stable on the patio, holds the smoke extremely well, and the included wheels make it easy to move around.

The chrome plated interior racks are very easy to clean, and the lighted interior and glass door on the front of the unit make it easy to check on your smoking progress; again, without having to open the door.

It has a side mounted wood ship loader, which makes adding additional wood a breeze; and the drip pan and grease pan are easy to clean as well.

The Masterbuilt 30 Inch Electric Smoker – Smoked Food Without the Mess

This is an exceptional electric smoker that allows you to smoke plenty of food without the mess. If you have used an electric smoker before, you know what a problem it is opening the smoker to check temperature o add more wood.

Not with this model. I had an issue with the grease pan (as it a little hard to reach), the include remote did not come with the required 2 AA batteries (and I didn’t have any in the house), and the glass door on the front will require cleaning after every three or four smoking jobs.

But those are minor annoyances. The Masterbuilt 30 Inch is an exceptional electric smoker that creates moist and tender, fully smoked meat and chicken; and it is literally as close to hands free cooking that you will get.
