The Smokin’ It Electric Smoker Cooks As Good As It Looks
We ordered the Smokin’ It electric smoker online and paid $269.99. Shipping wasn’t free; but at $49 our total cost was right at $320.
It shipped fast (we received our smoker in three days), and there was no assembly whatsoever; it was ready to go right out of the box.
We set it up on the patio, and it was a strong, well constructed unit. It takes up very little space because of its vertical design, and it measures 13 inches deep by 13 inches wide by 17 inches high.
And unlike a lot of the other electric smokers, it glimmers as the sun reflects off the brushed stainless steel exterior.Not a big asset when it comes to smoking food; but it certainly looks nice on the patio.
And even though it has a small exterior design, there is plenty of room inside to smoke whatever foods you’d like. We’ve fit in two hams, a full rack of ribs, and three chicken breasts at one time; and still had room to spare.
The adjustable stainless steel racks make it easy to accommodate whatever you’re trying to smoke; and clean up is easy since the racks and the interior of the unit are stainless as well.
The smoke box is easy to access and refill, and it has a stable temperature control which we checked with an external meat thermometer (a difference of three degrees); and our testing has shown that it maintains its temperature whether you are smoking for two hours or ten hours.
The Smokin’ It Electric Barbeque Smoker Downside
This is an excellent electric barbeque smoker in many ways.
The only downside we have discovered with this smoker is that there was no included drip pan with the smoker; and it will take a few smokes (three or four) before the door seals adequately.
These problems are easily remedied with an old cookie sheet from the kitchen that is now working as a drip pan; and once this smoker has been used a couple of times, it seals pretty well.
Expect some smoke leakage with the first couple of smokes, but after that you’ll discover that this electric smoker emits very little smoke.
The Smokin’ It Electric Smoker Is A Great Value
Not only is the price less than it competitors; but I really liked the customer service from these guys. The smoker came with a complimentary bag of hickory smoke chips; and I eve got a personalized thank you note from the owner of the company.
And don’t let the size of this smoker fool you; there is more than enough room for all the foods you want to smoke, the food comes out flavorful and tender, it is easy to clean and maintain, and it doesn’t take up the entire patio.
It may not be as big or as expensive as other electric smokers available; but the Smokin’ It Electric Smoker will do just as good as job (if not better) at about half the price.
